Maggie has a soothing, calm, grounded presence that is healing on its own even before the acupuncture begins. Her gentle, expert touch combined with her empathetic nature makes the whole experience of being at Olo a deeply relaxing and healing one.
Working with Maggie is a gift - she is kind, compassionate, and a great listener. I always feel that I am heard during our session, and I leave feeling relief! As a performer, I also appreciate her background in dance and how it has informed her knowledge of the body.
Arlen's calm presence is soothing and unwavering attention is unparalleled. I entrusted Arlen with her assistance in healing myself from shoulder surgery. She took the time to evaluate and execute the proper techniques to not only alleviate my pain but increase my mobility. She's a rare find and a well gifted one at that.
I have seen Jane a couple of times over the past two years. She is really sweet and caring - on top of her acupuncture talent! Olo has the warmest staff! No one ever pressures you to purchase other services. To sum it up: GREAT prices for quality treatment.
I am a believer! I am all into holistic and alternative medicine; I have felt so much better since I started seeing Matthew one year ago (and actually the effectiveness of acupuncture has been shown through clinic trials). I have also seen Yuka and Jane, they are also very knowledgeable and caring.
I started the whole acupuncture treatment for my headaches, stress, anxiety and associated digestive issues, and the digestive issues have been resolved and the anxiety and stress symptoms have improved as well as my headaches. I've also had them treat random things like congestion and knee pain, all with success. I really look forward to every session - Matthew is so nice and attentive, and I find the sessions themselves to be so relaxing.
In the beginning I thought i would mind the whole community aspect, but trust me as soon as there done with you, you will be knocked out for about an hour. The room is serene and quiet with peaceful music playing, and I've never felt bothered or distracted by the other patients. They do also sell herbal remedies and medicines but there is never a hard sell, it's just offered as an option if you are interested and open to it. Finally, I love being able to book online via the MindBody website or app.
After 6 months of trying every trick in the book to cure my stomach pain, from different doctors to diets, I turned to Michael and Yuka for acupuncture. Within a few days, I started to feel immediate relief that has had a lasting impact on my stomach and overall well-being. The results have been amazing! Their treatments are tremendously accurate, and I leave each one feeling energized, rested, and healed. Michael and Yuka are 100% accountable and knowledgeable. It is such a pleasure being their patient because I know I am in good hands. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for effective and attentive acupuncture treatment.
I first came to Olo because some friends I had dinner plans with were receiving treatment and asked me to meet them there. While I was waiting for my friends to finish, one of the helpful staff members noticed I had a cough and offered me some water. She then told me how if I was feeling under the weather that an acupuncture treatment could help with my cold symptoms. I was curious to try it, but am not very fond of needles to say the least.
After talking for a bit more I mentioned that I still suffer from residual pain from shoulder surgery earlier in the year and asked if that was able to be treated. After hearing some more of the benefits and since I was just sitting there waiting I figured what the heck and decided to bite the bullet and give it a try.
Well I have to say it was one of the better snap decisions I have made in a while. Even though I was freaked out by the thought of the needles I took my place in the extremely comfortable chair. The calming atmosphere and soft music helped to settle my nerves. I had a nice conversation with the practitioner and explained my fear of needles and apologized beforehand that I might be a problem child. After talking for a bit more she had me close my eyes and take some deep breathes.
Next thing I know she asked me how I was doing. I didn’t realize the needles were already in place and I hadn’t felt anything. I was given a blanket and pillow and just relaxed in the chair. Afterwards I noticed my sinus problem had begun to clear up and I was able to breathe a lot better as well as my shoulder feeling less stiff. Since then I have been returning to Olo at least once a week for the past four weeks.
My shoulder feels a lot better and I no longer have to take over the counter meds to manage the pain. I go in for treatment and end up falling asleep in the chair for a great little power nap and waking up feeling refreshed and stress free. My trips to Olo have now become one of the best parts of the week.
For anyone considering trying acupuncture but are hung up on their fear of needles I have to say as a fellow timid individual, you really do not notice them. So take my advice and give it a try and much like me Olo will be your new favorite place in the city.
My upper back pain, my headaches, my anxiety... all have been drastically, drastically reduced if not gone altogether since I started seeing Emily for acupuncture once a week. I cannot express enough how much the treatments have helped. It's also comforting to know that when I'm walking into the clinic, I feel like I'm walking into a safe space, no matter what my state of mind is prior to arriving. I leave feeling balanced every time and that balance has definitely translated into my daily life. I'm healthier and I'm happier.
I had developed acute back spasms and pain which lasted for quite a long time.
After several months of physical therapy and pain relief shots, I did not get enough relief and decided to return to acupuncture. I also decided to try a massage with Rosanna. Yuka has done and still doing a fantastic job in my getting relief from my annoying back spasms and nagging pains. Rosanna has gotten to my underlying knots and mysterious trigger points with her wonderful and therapeutic masssages.
I tried aromatherapy with my massage and the soothing fragrances and relaxing oils were absolutely fantastic! It surprised me that I almost fell asleep. Maybe I did... I really did not want to get up after my aromatherapy and massage session with Rosanna but how can I deny her following clients of such an experience?
A must try if you haven't or considering. I am going for more! Thank you Yuka and Rosanna for helping me get through this back spasm ordeal!
After two acupuncture treatments for a pinched nerve on the left side of the neck, I am feeling noticeably better. The sharp pains across my shoulder blade were diminished after the initial treatment last Friday, August 15. The second treatment on Sunday, August 17 was also beneficial; now experiencing more intermittent numbness than pain. I plan to continue with Tracey on a weekly basis.
Arlen has an impeccable bedside manner. She is kind, warm, and listens deeply. No detail is too trivial and she never pathologizes. I always feel like she cares about me as a whole person. In addition to the treatment from the needles, her way of being with me is profoundly healing.
I was diagnosed by a doctor with De Quervain's Tenosynovitis in both my wrists. Despite being treated by multiple doctors, I had been living in severe pain for 7 months with no improvement.
Then, I walked into Olo Acupuncture. I was skeptical about it to be honest. I had never had acupuncture done. But I was ready to try anything to relieve my pain. I began treatment with Jane and after only one session saw a huge improvement. I mean, literally after one session I felt like a new woman!
Jane helped me understand that what I had been told by my doctor was actually prohibiting my healing. My doctor wanted to do invasive surgery, but after learning about my body with Jane, I avoided that completely. Every week I worked with Jane I saw small improvements. I was still living with some pain, but gradually I was getting better through acupuncture, massage, and stretches Jane showed me.
Now, after six months of treatment, I have finally gone from being "treated" to "maintenance." I am no longer living in pain every day. I feel like I have my life back! And most excitingly I have learned more about my body. Thank you Jane! I highly recommend her and everyone at Olo. Plus, the front desk staff is amazing, too. :) If you're considering acupuncture, do it!
Olo Acupuncture is a wonderfully serene and welcoming healing space. Everyone is so warm and attentive. Most importantly, Janelle, my acupuncturist, was able to get to the root of pain I had been experiencing in my left temple for over 40 years. Her approach with me was one of patient, encouraging discovery. I found her to be very responsive and knowledgeable about the body's energies and rhythms. I have been pain-free for the last three weeks!
I've visited Olo several times for different reasons and every acupuncturist that has treated me has been very knowledgeable and competent. The first thing I got treated for was numbness on my arm from my neck to my fingers; after a few treatments the problem went away and hasn't come back (it's been a at least 2 years since). The receptionist are also very polite and helpful in getting appointments scheduled. I love the atmosphere and community healing at Olo as well.
Came here for my first acupuncture visit.-friendly staff-the common room is very relaxing. I fall asleep all the time with no pain. -Feel great afterwards and pain free. I come here for my lower back pain (herniated disc).
Wonderful, caring staff and deeply restful clinic space, at bargain prices for Manhattan.
Olo is a delightful and refreshing oasis in the middle of Chelsea. The people running the space and administering the services are gentle, kind, and in the know. I'm a regular now, going every week, and I'm feeling better and better (I'm of the belief that regular holistic care is great for general well-being) Their prices are reasonable, and their services are great. Definitely give them a shot.
I had been suffering from migraines since I was about 6 years old. I went from doctor to doctor, trying everything from Imatrx to Beta Blockers which are for heart disease. Most of the time, I decided to deal with the migraine instead of the excruciating side effects of the medicine. All I wanted was to be able to drive my kids to school safely, work a whole day without feeling nauseous, and not fear the beautiful, warm sunlight. Tired of popping pills and listening to doctor after doctor explain, “We really don’t know much about what causes migraines,” I gave up on conventional medicine and turned to more natural techniques.
Yuka was very informative and well trained. For the first month, I saw [her] once a week. After the second week, my migraines were nowhere near the intensity they had been my entire life. I was already a believer and felt hopeful for the first time in years. I continued with the treatments along with some Chinese herbal supplements.
It has been almost two years since my last visit to Yuka, and although I am still stressed out at times –juggling a new baby– I can honestly say I am still migraine-free; not even a wimpy headache can disrupt this girl’s Qi. I owe my life to Yuka for she has given it back to me. I highly recommend her to everyone and anyone who will listen. The best part of all is a can enjoy my morning cup of coffee, a delicious glass of wine once the kids are to bed and the occasional Hershey bar. Thanks Yuka, you’re a life savior!
