Medicare covers acupuncture, but only for low back pain when treatment is administered by a Medical Doctor, Nurse Practitioner, or a Physicians Assistant. Because of this, we do not accept stand-alone Medicare at Olo.

However, with some Medicare supplemental plans, you can be treated by a Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.), and there are more conditions covered as well. We do not take no-fault or workers compensation at this time.

Absolutely! 

We can usually get verifications back quickly, but If you would like a treatment before your verification is complete it is best to call to make sure you are scheduled with a provider that takes your insurance. You will need to pay the cash price at the time of treatment, but in the event that you are covered, any amount paid will either go towards co-pays, co-insurance and/or deductibles, or refunded if needed.

Jane Terrana, L.Ac. currently sees patients in-network with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield.

All other providers can see patients as out-of-network providers with all plans.

An insurance deductible is the amount paid out of pocket by the patient before the insurance company will pay for any billed services.  The amount of the deductible depends on the plan.

We work with patients under Aetna, Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Health Care, Oxford and more. Since all insurance plans differ we require a verification in order to confirm the details of your plans acupuncture coverage.
